V-Hawk Baseball Releases 2025 Schedule

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Baseball team has officially released their 2025 schedule. The V-Hawks look to improve upon a 12-38 (10-13 NSAA) campaign in 2024 that ended in their third game of the NSAA Conference Tournament. The V-Hawks will be entering their inaugural season in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

All series are four games, made up of back to back days of double headers, unless otherwise noted.

The V-Hawks, under direction of Head Coach Jon Grana, start their season in Kansas City, Mo where they will face Grand View Feb. 15-16. The following Friday they will travel to Columbia, Kent. Where they will compete with Lindsey Wilson Feb 21 and 22.

  Brett Stuessel, one of the V-Hawks top performing returners, lead the V-Hawks into March with a trip to Mount Mercy, followed by a weekend at Trinity Christian (IL) to open conference. Before opening the season at home, Viterbo travels to UW-Parkside for a standalone game on March 11. To open the home season, the V-Hawks host their first series of the year, March 14 and 15 against Indiana South Bend. Remaining in home series, VU will face off Maranatha Baptist, in a non-conference matchup. Opening a stint on the road Viterbo will travel to St. Mary's for a single game, then travelling to Judson March 21 and 22, making a wide loop of the Midwest, next traveling to Waldorf for a single matchup before coming home rounding out March against St. Ambrose (IA).

Brandon Jaenke and Kyle Burns return to the squad as well, each being All-Conference Second Team and Honorable Mentions in 2024. They, and the V-Hawks, start April back on the road for the first game in a home-and-away series with the Clarke Pride April 1, remaining on the road Saint Xavier (IL) will host the V-Hawks for a conference matchup. Traveling home VU will face off with Calumet (IN) before hosting the Pride on April 15. With three matchups left in the season Viterbo will travel to Olivet Nazarene (IL), followed by their final non-conference game of the season at Briar Cliff (IA). Finishing the regular season at home, the V-Hawks will host St. Francis (IL) on the 25 and 26.

Only six CCAC members will compete in the conference postseason in a double elimination tournament April30-May 3.

The winner of the conference postseason tournament receives the league's automatic bid to the NAIA Baseball National Tournament's Opening Round on May 12-15.  The national tournament's opening round winners move on to the Avista-NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho on May 23-31.
