V-Hawks Release 2024 Schedule

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Baseball team has officially released their 2024 schedule. The V-Hawks look to improve upon a 15-31 (12-16 NSAA) campaign in 2023 that ended in their second game of the NSAA Conference Tournament.

All series are four games, made up of back to back days of double headers, unless otherwise noted.

The V-Hawks, under direction of Interim Head Coach Jon Grana, start their season with a tough test against Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.), who is ranked #25 in the NAIA Top 25 Coaches Preseason Poll, on Feb 2 and 3. Following that, Viterbo heads to Ottawa (Kans.), then plays in a tournament in Joplin, Mo., opponent TBA, on Feb 16 and 17. They close out February with a series at Park (Mo.)

Blake Warner, the V-Hawks lone returning All-Conference performer, leads the V-Hawks into March with a trip to (RV) Columbia (Mo.), followed by a weekend at Midland (Neb.). Before entering NSAA conference play, Viterbo travels to Uw-Parkside for a standalone game on March 12, the first game in a home-and-home series with the Rangers. To open the conference season, the V-Hawks host their first series of the year, March 15 and 16 against Dickinson State (ND). The final non-conference match is a home game against Parkside on March 19, before they travel to Valley City State (ND) on March 22 and 23. The final series in March is home against Dakota State (SD).

Gavin Daniel and Anthony Sanchez return to the squad as well, each being All-Conference Honorable Mentions in 2023. They, and the V-Hawks, start April with their final home series, hosting Mayville State. To end the regular season, Viterbo travels to Waldorf (Iowa) on April 19 and 20, then finish at #7 Bellevue (Neb.).

All seven North Star members will compete in the conference postseason tournament, hosted by Dickinson State, on May 3-6.  The conference tournament is held at Dakota Community Bank and Trust Ballpark.

The winner of the conference postseason tournament receives the league's automatic bid to the NAIA Baseball National Tournament's Opening Round on May 13-16.  The national tournament's opening round winners move on to the Avista-NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho on May 24-31.
