Daniel Named Player of the Week

BISMARCK, N.D. – The North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) announced the ninth edition of their Baseball Players of the Week and Gavin Daniel was named the Player of the Week. He won the award alongside Grant Svikulis of Dakota State (S.D.), who was named the Pitcher of the Week. This was Daniel's first time earning a player of the week award.

Daniel, a junior from Oconomowoc, Wis., went 10-of-16 during Viterbo's 5-0 week, including three doubles. He posted a batting average of .625, a slugging percentage of .813, and an on-base percentage of .727, while scoring nine runs, batting in seven runs, stealing two bases, and being walked four times. He also fielded 100%, with 11 put outs in 11 chances.

"Gavin was a game changer this weekend," said Head Coach Brian Lewis, "and played a huge role in our abil;ity to sweep the conference series."

Daniel and the V-Hawks look ahead to Friday as they host Waldorf in the final regular season series of the year.
