Bio

Owen Mills enters his second year as a member of the Athletic Training staff for Viterbo University.  Prior to joining the V-Hawks, Mills worked as a Graduate Assistant in Northern Michigan’s Olympic Training site for 2 years while working on his Masters degree.  During his time there, he provided sports medicine services to the Olympic Greco-Roman Wrestling team and weightlifting team.  Mills also worked for UP Rehab for two years where he provided routine event coverage for youth and high school sports in the Marquette Michigan area.  Additionally, he worked to develop NMU’s Concussion Clinic and completed Concussion Research Data Collection.  

Mills received a Bachelors of Science degree in Athletic Training from Northern Michigan University.  While completing his Bachelors degree, he had various clinical rotations with all of the sports programs at NMU.  The largest being the Division 1 hockey team, women’s soccer, track and field, and cross country.  Mills received his Masters degree in Public Administration from Northern Michigan University.  

Mills grew up in Rudyard, MI in the U.P. and graduated from Rudyard High School.  A few of his many hobbies include hunting, fishing, and trapping.  He also enjoys wood-working and working on cars.  Recently married, Mills' wife Alexis is also an athletic trainer and is employed by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
