Bio

Chase Damewood was hired in August of 2022 as the Coordinator of Athletics Events. In his primary role, Damewood leads the efforts in all internal and external operations of Viterbo Gamedays. This includes all varsity and junior varsity games, regular season tournaments, post-season events, and special events. Along with his primary role, he also serves as the Advisor for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and the Team Chaplain Program, and as the athletics staff representative for the P.R.O.M.I.S.E. committee on campus.  

Prior to his time at Viterbo, Damewood was the Graduate Assistant of Athletic Administration for two years at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His primary roles were to assist the Assistant Athletic Director and Athletic Director in athletic administration duties, serving as the gameday administrator for all home athletic events, and was the Assistant Director of the JumpStart Program.  

While pursuing his education, Damewood also spent three years coaching college and high-school football in the Cedar Rapids area. At Coe College, Damewood served as the assistant wide receiver coach in the 2019 spring season, and the assistant defensive back coach in the 2019 fall season. At John F. Kennedy High-school, Damewood was an assistant varsity coach assisting with the outside linebackers and special teams units in the 2017 season, and the sophomore wide receivers and defensive backs coach in the 2018 season.  

Damewood earned his Associate Degree of Arts from Kirkwood Community College in 2018, his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology with a minor in Communications from Coe College in 2020, and his Master’s Degree in Strategic Leadership from Mount Mercy University in 2022. 

Damewood currently resides in La Crosse with his wife Tiernan.
