Four Relays Run Against Elite Talent at Drake

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Viterbo University Women's Track and Field team competed at the 114^th edition of the historic Drake University (Iowa) Relays this weekend. 13 V-Hawks competed over four V-Hawk Relay teams.

The top performance came from the 4x100 meter relay shuttle of Madelyn Kassulke, Emily Ludwig, Ashley Veronen, and Emma Johnson. The team finished ninth, with a time of 62.72 seconds. Kaylee McLeod, Emma Schoen, Lauren Cole, and Tori Gerber made up the 1600 meter sprint medley team that took 17^th. The race is split into 200-200-400-800 meter legs, and the team finished in 4:23.40. Both performances established new Viterbo records.

The VU 4x200 meter team, consisting of Braylee Hyatt, Grace Peyron, Emily Howell, and Caludia Schunk, finished in 1:43.92, which also placed 17^th. Finally, the 4x100 meter relay squad of Lillia Chvatal, Veronen, Schunk, and Hyatt  took 21^st, recording a time of 49.43 seconds.

The V-Hawks return to action on Friday, May 3 at the University of Dubuque (Iowa) Battle in the Bluffs.
