V-Hawks Place Sixth at Mankato State

MANKATO, Minn. – The Viterbo University Women's Trak and Field team took sixth place out of 15 teams at the Mankato State Minnesota Open on Saturday with 37 team points.

Mankato State claimed the team title with 248 points.

Emily Ludwig earned a silver medal for the V-Hawks, finishing the 100 meter hurdles in 14.97 seconds.

Emma Johnson took fourth place in the pole vault, clearing 3.47m (11'4.5"), and fifth in the 100 hurdles, with a time of 15.42. The V-Hawks 4x100 meter relay team of Lillia Chvatal, Ashley Veronen, Claudia Schunk, and Braylee Hyatt also claimed a fourth place finish, with a time of 50.21 seconds. Hyatt also scored in the 100 meter dash, taking eight with her mark of 12.67 seconds.

In the pole vault, Olivia Wingo and Emily Howell tied for fifth behind Johnson with heights of 3.32m (10'10.75"). Pearla Teko-Folly and Kaylee McLeod each scored in the triple jump, taking sixth and eighth with leaps of 10.81m (35'5.75") and 9.79m (32'1.5"), respectively. Additionally, Grace Peyron was sixth in the long jump at 5.40m (17'8.75").

The V-Hawks return to action on April 19 and 20 at the UW-La Crosse Phil Etsen Challenge.
