V-Hawks Compete in Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Viterbo University Men's Track and Field team completed at the University of Dubuque (Iowa) Mississippi River Rumble on Saturday. The V-Hawks tied for fifth place out of seven teams with 35 team points.

The V-Hawks tied with Hawkeye CC (Iowa), while Dubuque took first place with 246 points.

Gabe Holderby had the top finish for the V-Hawks, taking second in the Javelin with a throw of 55.5m (182'1"). Jalen Anderson recorded the other medal finish of the day, taking third in the 110 meter hurdles with an NAIA "A" Standard time of 14.54 seconds.

Other scorers for the V-Hawks included Avin Smith taking fourth in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:00.76, and seventh in the 110 hurdles at 16.06 seconds, and Connor Birdsong taking fourth in the 1,500 with a mark of 4:03.48. Brandon Ferguson took eighth in the 110 hurdles with a mark of 16.08.

The V-Hawks return to action on Saturday, April 13 at the Luther College (Iowa) Norse Invite.
