Men's Basketball goes 2-0 on the road over the weekend

The Viterbo Men's Basketball team (13-11) went 2-0 on the weekend on the road at Dickinson State and Valley City State and improved to 7-4 in NSAA play. The V-Hawks edged the Dickinson State Blue Hawks, 63-61 on Friday night and cruised to an 89-66 victory on Saturday against the Valley City State Vikings. 

Jack Monis led the way against the Blue Hawks, collecting his fifth double-double of the season after scoring 19 points and collecting 12 rebounds. Robert Cunitz added 12 points for Viterbo, while Brady Polk contributed nine points and a team-high three assists. The V-Hawks hit 71.4 percent of their free throws compared to Dickinson State's 61.1 percent, helping them seal the two-point victory.

The game was all Viterbo on Saturday, with four V-Hawks scoring double-digits, led by Polk and Noah Fredrickson with 20 points each. Cunitz followed closely behind with 18 points of his own. Monis collected his second consecutive double-double and sixth for the season with 13 points and 13 rebounds. 

The V-Hawks will be back in action for their final regular-season weekend series. Viterbo will host Mayville State on Friday night and Presentation on Saturday. Friday's tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM CST. Follow the action on our website or by following us on social media.
