Men's Basketball wins third consecutive NSAA game

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo Men's Basketball team (9-8) won their third consecutive NSAA game on Friday night against the Vikings of Valley City State University, 84-70. Three V-Hawks scored in double digits to propel the V-Hawks to 3-1 in conference play.

Viterbo came out slow, getting down 11-6 to start the game. However, the V-Hawks gained momentum and a Noah Fredrickson jumper put the V-Hawks in the lead 18-17 with 11:40 left in the half. The V-Hawks would not look back from there, outscoring the Vikings 28-15. Viterbo shot 66.7% from the field behind a big performance from Jack Monis, who scored 19 in the first 20 minutes.

The two teams were knotted in half number two, but the V-Hawks maintained their 14-point lead from the first half through the rest of the game to come out on top, 84-70. Monis scored a team-high 23 points, followed closely by Brady Polk with 21. Robert Cunitz chipped in 15 points and five rebounds, while Fredrickson added nine.
