BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Viterbo Men's Basketball team (4-6) dropped a non-conference matchup between the (RV) Tigers of Olivet Nazarene University last night, 70-89.
The V-Hawks got out to a slow start, trailing by as many as eight points before chipping away to tie the game at 22 with 10 minutes left in the first half. From there the two teams traded leads 10 times going into the half, with the Tigers ahead 40-39.
The second half started similar to the way the first half ended, with both teams trading leads early. However, the Tigers used a 7-0 run midway through the second half to build a lead that the V-Hawks were unable to overcome and got the win 89-70.
Noah Fredrickson scored a team-high 24 points off the bench for the V-Hawks, going 8-9 from the field and 5-6 from three. Jack Monis added another 17 points for the V-Hawks.
The Viterbo Men's Basketball team will be back at home on Saturday to face Mount Mercy University. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM CST.
