FOREST CITY, Iowa – The Waldorf softball team was back on their home field for a conference doubleheader against Viterbo. The Warriors lost both, 2-8 and 0-8.
In the first game, the Warriors scored both of their runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Paige Pierson (SO/Cambridge, IA) scored the first run and Brooke Hickey (SO/Adel, IA) scored the second off an RBI single from Annah Sheffield (JR/Sheffield, AL).
The V-Hawks scored their first run in the 4th inning and went up 2-3 in the 5th. In the 6th inning, the V-Hawks added three runs and two more in the 7th to win 2-8.
Hickey led the offense with two at-bats and two hits.
For the second game, the V-Hawks scored eight runs on 13 hits and limited the Warriors to one hit.
Alex Mathers (SR/Greene, (IA) started pitching for the Warriors and had one strikeout and zero walks.
The Warriors are back at home tomorrow for a non-conference doubleheader against St. Ambrose starting at 2 p.m.
