Baseball Splits to Viterbo on Day Two

Lamoni, Iowa. – The Graceland University Baseball team competed in their home opener against the Viterbo University V-Hawks. The Yellowjackets took game three with a score of 10-3 and were defeated in game four 5-6. The Yellowjackets take the seier 3-1 to the V-Hakes.

The Scoring – Game 1
B1 – The Yellowjackets would get on the board first with a Zach Tanabe single to bring home Skyler Harris (GU: 1 | VU: 0)
T3 – The V-Hawks would add two from a fielder's choice error and a sacrifice fly (GU: 1 | VU: 2)
B3JD Woodruff would drive a double to left center to bring home Zach Tanabe and Travis Vaala (GU: 3| VU: 2)
B4 – The Yellowjackets would add two more runs from an Austin Wheeler double down the left field line to bring home Trevor Yorges, and Wheeler would score on a failed pickoff by the V-Hawks to Skyler Harris on first base (GU: 5| VU: 2)
B5Bryan Paez drilled a double down the right-field line to bring in Jacob Lopez and Javin Stevenson. A sacrifice fly by Travis Vaala would score Paez. Trevor would cross the plate on a V-Hawk wild pitch (GU: 9| VU: 2)
B6 – Graceland would cap their scoring with Zach Tanabe crossing the plate from a wild pitch and a Viterbo error (GU: 10| VU: 2)

Roger Camacho got the win by going 5.0 innings; he faced 21 batters, allowing two runs and had five strikeouts. Jorge Diaz came in for 2.0 innings, faced eight batters and allowed one hit and one run.
