Prauner Picks Up Two Game-Winning Hits in Arizona Monday Sweep

Doane Softball returned to the fields in Arizona on Monday and added two more wins to their start of Spring Break. The Tigers topped Friends (Kan.), 5-1, and Viterbo (Wis.), 10-4.

In the first game of the day, Doane used a three-run first inning to post a win over the Falcons. Anna Prauner had a bases-clearing double to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead. Megan Elliott added an RBI-single in the second inning and Grace Dowding had an RBI-single in the sixth inning for the Tiger runs.

Doane's offense was limited to four hits and three walks in the game. Dowding finished with two of the team's hits in the game.

Camry Moore picked up another win for the Tigers as she went 7.0 innings, allowing one run on five hits while striking out six.

Viterbo jumped out to a 3-1 lead over the Tigers after three innings of play in the second game of the day. In the fifth inning, Doane pushed five runs across the plate as they took the lead. They added three runs in the sixth inning to double their lead to secure the win.

Prauner had a two-run single to break a 3-3 tie in the fifth inning for the Tigers, her second game-winning hit of the day. Megan Elliott had a two-run single in the sixth inning for the final runs of the day.

Dowding finished with three hits and two runs for the Tigers. Moore added two hits, two runs scored, and a RBI. As a team, Doane had 11 hits in the game from eight different players.

Faith Molina picked up her second win of the trip, throwing 6.0 innings and allowing six hits, four runs, two walks, while striking out five. Emily Haines threw a scoreless seventh inning, allowing one hit.

After a day off, the Tigers will take on Valley City State (N.D.) and Cottey (Mo.) on Wednesday, March 15.
