Two V-Hawks Earn All-Conference as V-Hawks Sit in Third at Conference Meet

DICKINSON, ND – The Viterbo University Women's Track and Field Team has begun competition at the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Outdoor Conference Meet, hosted by Dickinson State University (ND). The V-Hawks currently rank third with 54 team points. The meet started on Wednesday with heptathlon and decathlon.

Dickinson State University (ND) currently leads the standings with 140 points. The top eight finishers in each event scores points for their team.

The top-three finishers in each individual event and top two relay teams earn All-Conference honors.

Emma Johnson was the top finisher for the V-Hawks, taking second in the pole vault, clearing 3.40m and earning All-Conference. Breanna Ihde also earned All-NSAA, finishing third in the 400 with a PR time of 58.71.

Claudia Schunk and Lainey Teynor also scored in the 400, taking fifth (59.84) and seventh (1:01.58) respectively. Three more V-Hawks scored in the pole vault behind Johnson, including Tess Durscher (4th, 3.25m), Emily Howell (5th, 3.10m), and Olivia Wingo (6th, 3.10m). Howell finished above Winog based on attempts. The 4x800 team of Vanessa Thomas, Tori Gerber, Jerica Mueller, and Anya Hirsch took third with a time of 10:01.47, while Alexie Stephani took fourth in triple jump at 10.64m. Johnson also scored in the 100 meter dash, taking seventh at 16.59, behind her teammate Ashley Veronen in sixth at 16.11. Megan Scheuer's time of 45:28.80 in the 10,000 meter run placed her seventh, and the final two scorers for the V-Hawks were Bailey Nuutinen and Callie Kiefer taking seventh (31.54m) and eighth (31.05m) in the javelin throw, respectively.

The conference meet will conclude on Friday, May 12, with field events starting at 11:00 am, running events at 1:00 pm, the NSAA Champions of Character Presentation at 2:45 om, and the awards ceremony at 4:50 pm.
