Kendall Sets School Record at Ripon

RIPON, Wis. – The Viterbo University Women's Track and Field team competed at the Ripon College Red Hawk Invite on Saturday, and claimed fourth place with 109 team points.

Miranda Kendall captured the gold medal in the High Jump, clearing 1.63m (5-04.25), setting a new Viterbo school record. Alexie Stephani and Ashley Veronen also had strong showings in the event, finishing third (1.58m, 5-02.25) and fifth (1.53m, 5-00.25), respectively.

Breanna Ihde finished first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.92, which also places her first in the NSAA.

In the 60-meter dash, Lana Yeakel would earn first place, finishing in 8.04 seconds, just ahead of Ihde in second place (8.06) and Clair Shepardson in third (8.18).

Yeakel and Shepardson also had top finished in the long jump, with Yeakel in second (5.41m, 17-09.00) and Shepardson in fourth (5.05m, 16-07.00).

The V-Hawks dominated in the pole vault, claiming five of the top eight spots. Bailey Nuutinen finished second (3.35m, 10-11.75), Johnson was fourth (3.20m, 10-06.00) with the tiebreaker over her teammate Emily Howell at the same height, Tess Durscher in sixth (3.05m, 10-00.00), and Olivia Wingo earning a point in eight place, clearing (2.90m, 9-06.25).

Shepardson earned a bronze medal in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing in 9.34, and fellow V-Hawks was behind her in fourth at 9.64.

Stephani finished fourth in the triple jump, leaping 10.41m (34-02.00).

The V-Hawks return to action on Saturday, November 11 at the UW-Platteville Invitational.
