Viterbo Clawed in Conference Rematch

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Women's Basketball team fell to Olivet Nazarene University Wednesday night 82-67. The V-Hawks fall to 11-10 (CCAC 4-9) while the Tigers improve to 14-7 (11-2 CCAC).

Olivia Lambrigtsen opened the game for the V-Hawks with the first six points off a combination of layups and jumpers before Aubrey Dorn rounded out the quarter with a layup.

The Tigers held the V-Hawks to 15 for much of the second quarter, though Madison Hugdahl ended the drought with layups before the clock ran out.

Lambrigtsen would hard driving for the layup and pulling up from three before finding the sweet sport for the assist brought the V-Hawks within five of ONU. Seconds to go in the quarter Nora Tucker would drive in drawing the and one.

Viterbo looking to close the wide gap in the lead would find Hugdahl with back to back layups followed by an Emily McCurdy three. Though the V-Hawks would continue to fight one last layup by Hugdahl with two minutes left would be the end of scoring for the game.

Hugdahl led the V-Hawks from the floor with 17 points. Khendel Rolison led the Tigers with 12.  

The V-Hawks outshot the Tigers from the floor 42.9% to 32.9% and outrebounded 51-43 though were narrowly outshot from three 20.9% to 20.0% and committed less turnovers 35-19.

The V-Hawks return to action Saturday February 1 at home to host Trinity Christian.
