V-Hawks Split First Conference Weekend

DAVENPORT, Iowa; WHITING, Ind. -- The V-Hawks traveled to Iowa for their first CCAC competition of the 2026 season, followed by a trip out to Indiana for their second. The V-Hawks fell to the Fighting Bees of St. Ambrose 3-1 through a tightly-contested battle. On Saturday, the V-Hawks were able to turn it around, picking up a win against the Crimson Wave of Calumet in a 3-0 sweep. The V-Hawks improve to 2-10 overall and 1-1 in conference after the weekend of competition. 

AGAINST ST. AMBROSE

The V-Hawks fought hard through set one, falling by just two points in the opening set 25-23. In the second set, the Bees pulled away a bit, winning 25-19, but the V-Hawks were still within reach. The V-Hawks turned around set three, narrowly taking the set victory 25-23. The final set resulted in a win for the bees 25-18. Despite the loss, several V-Hawks performed strong.

Styrk Myhre heavily impressed on the offensive side of the ball. Myhre totalled eight kills on a 0.667 hitting percentage. Owen Collitt picked up seven kills, hitting 0.385, and Logan Amdur led with 10 total kills. From the set, Logan Amdur led with 21 total assists through just three sets. Amdur also added 10 digs and 10 kills, completing the triple-double. Defensively, Daxton Marschall led the back court with 12 digs, while Owen Collitt led the front court with three blocks. Roman Rzeszutko led from the service line with three aces. 

AGAINST CALUMET

The V-Hawks traveled to Calumet following their loss against the Bees. The V-Hawks took care of the Crimson Wave with ease, sweeping Calumet on the road. The V-Hawks won handily in the first set with a dominant 25-11 performance. In set two, the V-Hawks didn't slow down much, picking up the 25-14 win and hitting 0.412 as a team. In the third set, the Crimson Wave got close, but the V-Hawks edged past them with a 25-23 victory and their first conference win of the 2026 season. 

Offensively, Styrk Myhre impressed yet again. Myhre put up eight kills on an impressive 0.727 hitting percentage. Riley Connors added seven kills, while Caleb Koza and Ethan Davis each added four. Logan Amdur led with 14 assists, and Max Dugan picked up 18 digs. In the front court, Logan Amdur led with four blocks, while Owen Collitt picked up three. Dugan also led from the service line with three aces. Amdur had three as well.

The V-Hawks will travel to Stevens Point on Wednesday to face off against UW-Stevens Point. First serve is set for 6PM on Wednesday, February 25.
