Men's Track Takes Third at NSAA Meet

 DICKINSON, ND – The Viterbo University Men's Track and Field team finished third place at the North Star Athletic Association (NSAA) Outdoor Conference Meet on Friday. The V-Hawks scored 120 points, shattering the old school record of 93 points. 

Dakota State University (SD) took first place with 310.50 points.

The top eighth finishers in each event score points, and the top three finishers in individual events, and top two in relays are named All-Conference.

Justin Moore would lead the V-Hawks with a pair of NSAA titles in the high jump, clearing 2.00m, and the long jump, leaping 7.66m, which hit the NAIA A Standard, sets a new school and conference meet record, and ranks him second in the nation. He scored a total of 30 points at the meet, the 2nd highest individual total. 

Jalen Anderson earned two All-Conference laurels of his own, finishing second in the 200 with a time of 21.20 (hitting NAIA "A" Standard, ranked 22nd nationally), and third in the 100 at 10.81 seconds. He also took fourth in long jump with a mark of 6.80m, the third best in Viterbo history.

Greg Jenkins was behind his teammate in the long jump, earning a silver medal with a mark od 7.02m.

Each of the V-Hawks relay teams would score, with the 4x100 team of Anderson, Jenkins, Dominic Marken, and Darnell Williams taking fifth with a time of 48.43, and the 4x400 team of Marken, Williams, Tanner Groshek, and Andrew Kaja finished sixth at 4:07.10. Marken also scored in the high jump, clearing 1.80m for sixth, and ahead of him was Colin Adams in fourth with a height of 1.90m. Adams and Marken each also scored in the long jump, taking sixth (6.69m) and eighth (6.59m) respectively.

The V-Hawks return to action on Thursday, May 18 for the UW-La Crosse Qualifier meet.
