Mustangs fall in season opener at Viterbo

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Morningside men's soccer team fell to Viterbo 1-0 in the season opener at Viterbo Thursday afternoon.

A second half goal from the V-Hawks was the difference in the match. 

Sander Kohberg, Jona Fischer, Yannik Vogel, Niklas Kneller, and Niclas Bickel had shots on goal for the Mustangs. The Mustang defense held the V-Hawks in check outside of the goal, giving up two shots on goal, one of which goalkeeper Oliver Melander saved. The Mustangs had more shots (15-4) and more corner kicks (10-3) than Viterbo.

Morningside is back in action Tuesday at Elwood Olsen Stadium against Bellevue.
