Women's Basketball Falls to Viterbo
La Crosse, Wis. - The Graceland University Women's Basketball team traveled to take on the Viterbo University V-Hawks. The Yellowjackets were defeated by the V-Hawks, 65-59. Moving to 2-2 on the season.
Graceland (2-2) | Viterbo (1-3)
Quarter 1: Graceland 15 | Viterbo 19
The V-hawks would get on the board first and take the lead. Graceland would close the gap tie with points from an Alana Swift jumper and Bryanna Griffiths layup (6-6). Both Teams would trade baskets. Viterbo would take the edge heading into the second quarter, putting up six points in the last two minutes of play.
Quarter 2: Graceland 16 | Viterbo 19
Alana Swift would break the deadlock to close the deficit to one point with a layup and a made free throw (19-17). Viterbo would extend their lead to seven (27-20). The Yellowjackets would put up three to close the gap to five with baskets from Trinity Greenwood and Janiyah Davis (36-31).
Quarter 3: Graceland 12 | Viterbo 10
Both teams would work the basket. Graceland would shoot a 54.5 percentage from the field, making 6-11. Points would come from Alana Swift, Heaven Mbaruk, Trinity Greenwood, Janiyah Davis, Avery Walker-Henry and Sariah Bradley. Bradley would close the third quarter with a jumper (48-43).
Quarter 4: Graceland 16 | Viterbo 17
Both Teams would trade points. The Yellowjackets would hit 7-18 (38.9) from the field and hit both free throws. Viterbo would hold their lead and take a victory of 65-59.
