V-Hawks Host Morningside University in Opening Round

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The NAIA has released the pairings for the 2024 Women's Volleyball National Tournament Opening Round games, and Viterbo University is set to host Morningside University (Iowa) on Saturday, November 23 at 2 pm.

The V-Hawks, ranked #15 in the final NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll, qualified for the tournament with an automatic bid for winning the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Regular Season. It was Viterbo's 10th straight conference tournament title, first in the CCAC, their 11th conference tournament championship in a row, their 12th trip to the national tournament in 13 years, and their 15th appearance in program history.

Morningside University earned a spot in the tournament after qualifying with an at-large bid after falling the Great Plains Conference Tournament Quarterfinal. The league is large enough to garner two at large automatic bids. The Mustangs went 22-10 on the year. This is Morningside's 10th appearance in the championship tournament, with their most recent appearance last season. They are 0-9 all time.

The 24 opening-round winners on Nov. 23 will advance to the final site in Sioux City, Iowa, on Dec. 4-10.

This year's championship field includes 34 automatic qualifiers and 14 at-large selections. Automatic berths were given to teams that either won their respective conference tournament title, the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament, regular-season championship, or finished runner-up at the conference tournament as determined by each conference qualification plan. The at-large bids were determined by the NAIA Women's Volleyball Selection Committee. The selection committee consists of coaches and administrators from around the country.

All NAIA Championship Opening Round matches will be video streamed by the host.

The 2024 NAIA Women's Volleyball National Championship final site in Sioux City, Iowa will be broadcast FREE on the NAIA Channel of the Urban Edge Network and the newly redesigned NAIA Network for both the men's and women's races at the final site in Columbia, Mo. For more information and to pre-register, click HERE.
