Yeakel wins Long Jump, Shepardson sets Record in Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Viterbo University Women's Track and Field team competed at the UW Oshkosh Early Bird Invite on Saturday. The V-Hawks scored 67 team points, placing third out of nine teams. The hosting Titans claimed first with 254 points.

Lana Yeakel was the lone gold medalist for the V-Hawks, winning the Long Jump with a leap of 5.36m (17-07.00). Clair Shepardson finished fifth on the event, jumping 5.04m (16-06.50).

In the Pole Vault, Bailey Nuutinen finished second, clearing 3.42m (11-02.50), while Tess Durscher and Emma Johnson tied for fifth place at 3.12m (10-02.75).

Alexie Stephani earned the bronze medal in the High Jump, clearing 1.54m (5-00.50), just ahead of her teammate Miranda Kendall, who finished fourth with a jump of 1.49m (4-10.50).

Shepardson's fourth place finish in the 60m Hurdles with a time of :9.17 broke her own school record. Breanna Ihde had a pair of fourth place finishes as well, including running :7.91 in the 60m Dash, a personal best, and :26.74 in the 200m. Lainey Teynor also had a fourth-place finish, running a 1:06.38 in the 400m run.

The V-Hawks schedule continues on Saturday, January 21 at the UW-La Crosse invitational.
