LA CROSSE, Wis -- The V-Hawks continued CCAC play this Saturday in a match against the Fighting Saints of Saint Francis. The V-Hawks fell to the Saints in a 2-1 loss. Viterbo falls to 5-5 overall and 4-4 in CCAC competition while the Saints improve to 8-2-2 and 5-1-1 in CCAC competition.
The Saturday match was closely contested, with the V-Hawks losing to the Saints in 2-1 fashion. In the first half, neither team scored. In the first half, the Saints took seven shots while the V-Hawks took six. Only 48 seconds into the second half, Kelcie Karweick scored on a ball passed in from Evelyn Shaw. This is Karweick's first goal of the season.
The Saints responded, scoring a goal at 51 minutes to tie the game up. Both teams took several shots more in the second half than they did in the first half. At 60 minutes, the Saints scored their second goal, and the final goal of the match. The V-Hawks continued to fight for the final thirty minutes, taking several shots on goal.
