DAVENPORT, Iowa -- The V-Hawks traveled to Davenport, Iowa on Wednesday to face off against the Fighting Bees of St. Ambrose. Throughout the game, the V-Hawks worked hard to score, but they were defeated in a 1-0 loss to the Bees. The loss is the first of conference play for the V-Hawks. Viterbo is now 5-2 (4-1 CCAC) and the Bees improved to 5-5-1 (3-1-1 CCAC).
The lone goal of the game came at 19 minutes when Mia Hefner of St. Ambrose got the ball. She took a long shot that went into the upper left corner, just over goalkeeper Erin Brooks' reach. Throughout the match, the V-Hawks took five shots in an attempt to score, landing two shots on goal. Defensively, Erin Brooks earned nine saves on the night, allowing one goal past.
Though the V-Hawks took their first conference loss, they remain at second in the conference, only behind Saint Xavier.
