Breuchel's Hat Trick Leads Viterbo's Rout over Finlandia

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Women's Soccer team earned a 7-0 blowout win over Finlandia University (Mich.) on Saturday afternoon. The V-Hawks improve to 8-4-2 while the Lions drop to 6-7-2.

Viterbo's first goal came in the 11th minute from Grace Breuchel, assisted by Alex Little. In the 27th minute, Breuchel put in another goal, this time unassisted. Lauren Wedig took a shot that was blocked in the 36th minute, and three minutes later Kennedy Alves found Aimee Kemper to give Viterbo a 3-0 lead going into halftime.

Lions keeper Mikayla Brown started the second half with three saves, and it wouldn't be until the 73:18 mark that the V-Hawks found the net again, on an unassisted goal by Jenna Bennett. Bennett wouldn't take long to score again, with an Isabel Henry-assisted goal being put in just a minute later. In the 78th minute, Breuchel completed her hat trick on an unassisted score, and Rachel Kinney kept her foot on the gas until the end with a goal with just :30 left.

Viterbo outshot Finlandia 34-0, including 13 on goal, and took 13 more corner kicks. Anna Becker (W, 3-3-1) earned the win and Brown (3-3) recorded six saves.

The V-Hawk's final regular season game of the season in on Tuesday, October 25 as they play host to UW-Whitewater.
