Anderson, Moore Return to National Championship Meet

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NAIA has officially announced the qualifier list fir the NAIA Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, and two V-Hawks are set to compete in Marian, Ind. at the meet hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University.

Justin Moore, Sr., Scurry, Texas, comes into the meet as the #2 ranked long jumper in the NAIA. Moore qualified for Nationals at the Luther College Norse Invite, leaping 7.16m (23' 6") (NAIA B Standard), and continued to improve each meet. He would hit NAIA A Standard at the Drake Relays with a distance of 7.35m (24' 1.5"), and record his best mark at the North Star Athletics Association (NSAA) Outdoor Championships, jumping 7.66m (24' 1.75"), beating his own NSAA Meet and Viterbo record. He would then jump 7.79m (25' 6.75") with a 3.3 wind rating at the UWL Final Qualifier Meet. Moore returns to the national stage after finishing fifth, and being named All-American, in the long jump at the national meet last year.

Jalen Anderson, Sr., Rockton, Ill., also makes his second appearance at the Outdoor Championships, qualifying for two events, the 200m and 110m hurdles. Anderson comes in ranked #17 in the 110m hurdles, with a seed time of 14.47 (NAIA A Standard), which he ran at the University of Dubuque Good Friday Open. He would also run a 14.56 at the UWL Phil Esten Challenge (A Standard), and collect his second consecutive NSAA title at the Outdoor Champions meet. In the 200m, Anderson qualified for the National Meet at the NSAA Outdoor Championships, where his time of 21.20 hit NAIA A Standard and earned him All-Conference. He beat that time at the UWL Final Qualifier Meet, running a 21.13. He comes into the Championships Meet ranked 22nd.

The National Championship Meet will run from May 24-26. The 200m preliminaries are scheduled for May 24 at 4:25 pm, with the finals set for 3:20 pm on Friday. The 110m hurdles prelims will be the first track event on Thursday, starting at 1:15 pm, with the finals at 1:30 pm on the 26th. Long jump will start at 1:30 pm on Thursday.
