Track Competes in First Meet, Jenkins Qualifies for Nationals

RIPON, Wis. – The Viterbo University Men's Indoor Track team competed at the Ripon College Winter Open this weekend. The V-Hawks finished with 40 teams points, placing fifth out of seven teams.

Greg Jenkins finished 2nd in both the Long Jump, with a jump of 7.05m (23-01.75), and the High Jump, clearing 2.01m (6-07.00). Both reached the National B Standard, qualifying Jenkins for the National Championship meet.

In the 300-meter dash, Jalen Anderson set a new school record with a time of :36.30, beating his own record of :36.53, to place first.

Javon Kunkel placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 12.86m (42-02.25), Keenan Haas' time of :08.69 placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles, and Nicholas Vollmar was fourth in the pole vault at 3.80m (12-05.50).

The V-Hawks return to action on Saturday, December 10 at the UW-Oshkosh Early Bird Invitational.
