Viterbo Heads to Georgia for CAC Tournament

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo University Men's Soccer team, receiving votes in the most recent NAIA Top 25 Coaches Poll, has earned a spot in the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Conference Tournament. The second-seeded V-Hawks will join No. 1 Georgia Gwinnett, ranked sixth, No. 3 Florida National, receiving votes, and No. 4 Bellevue (Neb.) at Georgia Gwinnett College's Grizzly Soccer Complex in Lawrenceville, GA on November 11-12.

The V-Hawks currently sit at 15-1-1, including 2-1 in CAC play. The lone season loss came at the hands of Georgia Gwinnett , 2-1 at the CAC Classic in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, while they did beat Bellevue on the road in their regular season finale. The V-Hawks have outscored their opposition by a 60-6 margin, including 12 shutouts, and enter the postseason on a three-match winning streak.

Viterbo is matched up against 9-1-3 Florida National, whose 2-0 CAC record came from a pair of wins against Florida College. The team also picked up two scoreless draws against top-10 ranked St. Thomas University (Florida) during the season.

The conference has two bids to the NAIA National Tournament, so both semifinal winners earn automatic bids to the Opening Round.
